I love a wedding

Last weekend, Molly, Shawn, Sylvain, Seth & I BARTed out to Lafayette to watch Carly and Chris get married.

It was a lovely wedding with lots of friends who all looked wonderful. It was strange to see all of us converging out of San Francisco, L.A. and New York onto the unsuspecting Lafayette Park Hotel. We cried through the ceremony and clapped through the toasts at dinner (which was delicious, hello filet mignon). I always expect that I am going to feel cynical during moments like these but it felt really special, especially when Christine gave her toast.

Primo played some oldies and his signature soul and we danced until they shut him down. He didn't go down without a fight, but the music had to end.

Not to be deferred,we all put on our bathing suits or the closest approximation and jumped into the pool, the hot tub, and the sauna until the wee hours. We spent the whole of the next day there too, reading trashy magazines and drinking expensive but satisfying margaritas.

We came home exhausted and altogether satisfied and stoked for the food, the dancing, the sunshine, the water, and especially for the happy couple.
